I like that they are grown in England, and you can read about the farm, the conservation and care for wildlife that Nocholas Watts provides! I The bags are environmentally friendly too! They also have a best before date too - I’ve often wondered how old others I’ve bought (from others) are - and where they originated from. Buy British!

I changed to Sunflower Chips because i was getting many dropped Sunflower Hearts on the floor from small birds not being able eat whole Sunflower Heart. Now with the Chips i have much less waste on the ground. Although i do find this very pricey i wish it was a bit cheaper .

Feeders filled with your sunflower heart chips, attract sparrows, blue tits, blackcaps and robin.

These sunflower chips are very popular with my garden birds. I find they can stay on the feeder to keep eating whereas with the larger complete sunflower seeds they tend to fly off somewhere into a hedge or tree with one at a time to eat it bit by bit. I expect in very cold weather this saves energy which must be an advantage for them.

Ideal for serving with suet pellets and chopped peanuts on the bird table. They seem to appeal to all visitors, they're clean to handle and leave no mess. Good value.

Quality seed and prompt service and delivery.

I have been using these for years as the birds love them. They rarely sprout if they fall off the tray beneath and flow well through the feeder. Thoroughly recommended.

I have been buying from Vinehouse Farm for years and I have never had anything except excellent products and excellent service - the sunflower heart chips are no exception. Exactly what it says on the tin and very clean, no dust or debris. Birds love it.

Not a lot of wastage. Incessant rain may make those at the bottom of the feeder go horrible, but generally speaking it's all good.

Vine House Farm always sells good quality wild bird food. A bit more expensive than some but you get what you say for. Sun flower heart chips are easier for smaller birds to cope with including soft bill birds. They all always get eaten, there's never a bit left.

As an all round food for the small birds. Works for me. It will stick a bit in very wet weather. But in general, I have not found a better food.

Since buying your Sunflower Heart Chips many years ago, I have had a wide variety of birds at each of my homes. Since moving three years ago, not so many but I think that there is a young blackcap coming now. I am delighted. A big bag of entertainment for the price of a show ticket.

It's not what I think of them, it's the birds' reaction. I think every sparrow in the area and lots of other birds visit my feeder and are at the moment (July) emptying it every day. They queue up and squabble very noisily over whose turn it is. Any chip that falls is wolfed down by blackbirds, so there is no waste. I'm not going to mention the squirrels except to say they think the chips are delicious too.

Unlike sunflower seeds, sunflower heart chips for birds do not come with the black husk attached, and the heart of the seed is broken down into smaller, more manageable chunks. This means that even the smallest garden birds can enjoy the benefits that come with consuming sunflower seeds.
Sunflower heart chips are an ideal type of bird food for soft-bill birds, like Blackbirds and Robins. These kinds of birds are unable to break down whole seeds because of the shape of their beaks; they are not evolved to break off the tough outer layer of the seed (called the husk). If you only put whole sunflower seeds that are still in their husks in your garden, soft-bill birds will not attempt to eat them.
Both sunflower hearts and sunflower heart chips have had the seed’s husk pre-removed. This means these kinds of birds are able to consume them, making them an excellent choice if you want to attract more wild bird species into your garden.
