Perhaps I should get the birds to do the review! I mix these pellets in with other bird food as well as in their specific feeder and the birds love them. A particular favourite or our starlings but most birds given a choice graphic these pellets first. To sum up, these pellets go down a storm with our birds.

Unfortunately it's that time of of the year when there are very few birds around and my garden is no different to many others. Consequently I have been unable to give a decent review.

Really good company. Speedy free delivery and everything in recycling ready packaging. The only thing I wish was that I could get other types of suet pellets, eg berries. Because I have arthritis in my lower back I can't manage the larger quantity boxes.

This must be the ultimate 'snack' food of the avian world! This year's broods of great tits & blue tits come en masse like excited teenagers to grab a pellet and fly back to the safety of a tree, especially when a magpie comes for a share. The pellets are also enjoyed by robins, blackbirds and a woodpecker. The wood pigeons hoover up anything that's left!
27/07/2023Mr ken Ward
I use these in the window feeder in a tiny back garden in East London. The pellets would perhaps be better if they were generally a little smaller, then there might be less spillage as the birds chomp on them. I unwittingly bought some smaller ones from another supplier, and they did work better. This year, not merely sparrows, blue tits and great tits, but large birds have descended with a crash on the feeder - spotted woodpecker, jay, magpies, starlings.

High energy suet pellets with insects can also be fed from a mesh peanut feeder, with this method attracting species such as Long-tailed tit, Coal tit, Blue tit, Great tit and Great spotted woodpecker.
Insect suet pellets for birds can be fed at any time of the year, though will benefit garden birds the most during the cold winter months. This is because natural food such as invertebrates is far less easy for birds to find, with the high level of fat that suet contains largely acting as a replacement. This fat is then converted to energy once consumed by a bird, and in turn this also helps maintain body temperature through the long cold winter nights.
