Orders for Live Mealworms are sent directly from our supplier via Royal Mail. They are dispatched the same day if orders are received by 12pm Mon-Thurs; no orders are dispatched on a Friday. Please allow four working days for orders to arrive.

I buy this bird food because it is 'no grow'. It really is! The birds love it. It is particularly good for small birds as everything is chopped up. Mind you, the pigeons love it too. I put the food on an open bird table so end up with a scrum of birds all trying to get at it. I can also, very often, have as many birds under the table, pecking up the cast off from table.

I have been using this mix for a long time now. It is favoured by blackbirds, woodpigeons and hedgehogs when at a ground feeding station and by greenfinches, sparrows, robins and goldfinches on a hanging feeder.. Strangely, hedgehogs seem to prefer this mix to hedgehog food whereas magpies prefer the hedgehog food!

I am thinking about experimenting with straights because the tits are so picky and drop away anything they like less - however, if I only had space for one feeder this is the food I'd get. Many different birds come to feed on it, and nothing is too big for them.

However, the sack arrived open and with a cable tie around the top so not sure if that’s how it was dispatched or whether it had been tampered with? My birdfeeder is in the middle of my lawn, previous seed mixes, I used ended up with a little sprouting of the seeds regenerating below the feeder. The 'Won't Grow Mix' stops this happening, Fantastic product that I've used for about 16 years, and birds love it, Including blue tits, greatest, spotted woodpecker and mini other birds I don't know the names of.

No mess bird food is a type of bird seed mix that birds completely consume, without leaving any waste. This is also referred to as a ‘won’t grow bird seed mix’.
This is an ideal option for people who wish to reduce sprouting seeds in their garden, or generally reduce waste and mess.
Birds are naturally messy eaters. As they consume certain foods, including whole seeds, they discard seeds and the husks (outer shells) of seeds. These then drop onto the ground, or get stuck underneath feeders. If left, wasted seeds can either sprout in the ground or cause rot and fungi. If the husks of seeds are left to rot for too long below or in a feeder this can breed Salmonella. This disease is harmful to birds, which pass it between one another.
Our Won't Grow Mix is made using granulated seeds - sunflower hearts, sunflower heart chips, chopped peanuts, pinhead oats and kibbled maize. This makes it easier for birds to eat and less likely to be wasted.
This mix is also part of our wheat free bird seeds collection. Bird foods that contain wheat can cause significant sprouting when wasted seeds fall into the earth, which can be particularly tricky to manage if your bird feeder hangs over/is near decking or a slatted balcony.
Vine House Farm's no grow seed mix is also made using a selection of seeds that are most appealing to different species of bird. This encourages more birds that visit your garden to feed on the mix which, again, means less is wasted.
